Very Disappointed

"Bottom line" estimated for repairs, as coordinated through Kevin (employee), began at approx $400, then $500 (fair enough, that's why it's an estimate), then (the following day) $1,000, then $1,600, and finally $3,000. I don't appreciate the "bait & switch" method. I declined further service, and paid the $1,600 to make the car safe enough to drive home. There was a time when Hogan & Sons provided honest estimates and timely, quality service; this is no longer the case. I'm sorry to say that I will be taking my business elsewhere. My wife and I are very disappointed, as we have been loyal customers since 2010 and recommended this establishment to others during that time. I sincerely hope that Hogan & Sons rectifies their issues and re-enters Purcellville as an honest and forthcoming business with quality service and employees.

Impressed

I came in on Saturday morning with the need for an oil change, 120k mile check, a request to get an estimate on 2 body work fixes, and asking them to keep in mind that I have a road trip in 2 weeks. Andrew was Efficient, Professional, Friendly, Communicative, Generous and someone I'd like to work with again. Everything the car needed to be safe and up to par (or better) was done the same day. I live in Leesburg, but will gladly drive to Purcellville for my car's maintenance because of their commitment to what's best for my car and to keep me safe. And because they are patient while explaining things to me, and fair with their prices and setting expectations. IMPRESSED.

Not so good

Purchased new tires for my vehicle since rear tire had a nail in it on the flat bottom of the tire but was told that it could not be repaired. I asked for a Goodyear Assurance tire since I had those before and they also came on my current new car from the dealer. However, I was told the tires were the same except for the tread. I pulled out a dollar bill and measured my current and the new tire. They were clearly different sizes. When I brought this up I was told they meant the width at the rim of the tire. That was pretty ridiculous since it the width of the time at the rim changes, it would not fit the rim properly. The tires are about 0.75 inch wider than the ones on the car. I decided to get four tires instead of just two but when they went to perform the alignment, the person performing the alignment couldn't seem to get it adjusted properly on the driver's side of the car. They then showed me bad alignment on both the front and rear tires on the driver side of the car. Not good.
