Pulse in the brake pedal

I brought in our 2013 Camry to have the brakes looked at because there was a pulse in the brake pedal when braking. The symptoms included the pulse in the pedal and pulsating sound under heavy braking. There did not seem to be any shimmying in the steering wheel. Matthews took a look at all 4 brakes and could not see a reason for the pulsation. The service tech and I both thought the sound was coming from the front, but the steering wheel was steady and that usually means the back brakes are at fault. Matthews gave me options of doing the back rotors, the front, or both sets. They also gave me options of 2 yr warranty rotors vs lifetime. I chose 2 yr and only did the front rotors figuring that if I needed to go back and do the rear, I would. The work was done quickly and at the quoted cost with no surprises. I have been going to Matthews for years and this is typical of their service...very helpful, lots of options, and no pressure to go overboard.
