I have been coming to hogan and sons with various cars for the better part of 15 years now and everything is always great. Having just bought a used car when I got my oil change they gave me a comprehensive list of suggestions with detailed explanations. I'll continue to go here as long as I'm in the area!
Hogan on Pickett has been our family's go to mechanic for five years. They are honest, reasonable, fast, and good. Brandon and Denis have always been good to us. They honor their oil change coupon when I have my own synthetic oil, which sets them apart from the other Hogan in Herndon.
During a day filled with meetings I got a flat tire. I pulled in and they popped on the spare. As Iran around the county they patched the tire at the end Od the day they popped my fixed tire on and put the spare in the trunk. I only lost 15 minutes from the day. Amazing.
these guys know more than the factory mechanics, they repair it the first time.
When I called to see about getting 4 new tires, all of my questions were answered professionally and courteously. The service was scheduled immediately and all available deals offered. The service was performed quickly and the staff were great. We'll bring all of our vehicles here for tires!

I brought my car in to Hogan & Sons for an oil change and overall inspection before a big road trip. I was called and told that I needed all four struts replaced at a cost of $1,954.36 (which would include the oil change). I called the Honda dealer for a cost comparison and was quoted $1,081 for the same work. When I brought my car to the Honda dealer the following week I was told that the recommended work actually did not need to be done. The dealer said that this job (replacing the struts) is very profitable for repair shops to do -- maybe why Hogan & Sons recommended it even though it was not needed? Very disappointed with Hogan & Sons and I won't be returning.
As always, I don't always call in advance,. I left my car for an oil change at approximately 10 am stating I would need to pick up by 5 pm. At approximately noon the mechanic called. The oil change was completed and suggested other services for 50,000 miles manufacturers warranty items. He was able to check the computer for previous service. I also receive email updates for services and special offers. Always a pleasant experience here at Hogans in Fairfax.
Called ahead to ask about new tires. When I arrived the said my car had larger tires than they thought. The tires were now more expensive. The person gave me a discount to try and make up the difference which was appreciated. However, the service took way longer than they indicated over the phone. They were unable to check the alignment before I had to leave. Now there is a noise coming out of the front end of my car which may or may not have anything to do with the service performed by Hogan's but certainly doesn't improve my opinion.
